Psychedelic Preparation & Integration

Supporting you on your journey towards wholeness

Psychedelics and expanded states

Psychedelics are used for personal growth and development, supporting your mental health, or for their creative potential. Often their use involves entering an expanded state of consciousness and it is therefore important to have the right supports along the journey. Expanded states of consciousness can be reached in different ways. Many find that practices in yoga, meditation, prayer, or using one's breath provides what is needed. Others will need to journey deeper and therefore will benefit from the support of a professional experienced therapist.

First steps…

The first step is to find a therapist or guide who is familiar with working with expanded states of consciousness. Content, material, emotions and thoughts will arise and it will be important to have support in working through and processing what emerges. Attending a Holotropic Breathwork retreat with a certified facilitator or journeying with an experienced shamanic practitioner are solid introductions to expanded states of consciousness. It can be a very powerful experience while maintaining full control to stop at any time.

Options

If you wish to deepen your journey further, psychedelic therapy is another option. The contemporary legal framework in Ireland prohibits the use of psychedelics outside of research trials. Psychedelic therapy is available in other countries such as in the Netherlands where Inwardbound provides excellent retreats (https://inwardbound.nl/).  It is important to research appropriately as psychedelic psychotherapy is a very powerful intervention which needs to be approached with great care and safety.

At PPI, I can provide you with tailored preparation, careful integration and psychotherapy where needed to support you on your journey of growth. This deep work is a process that is contained within the safety and support of the relationship between you and me. I also provide integration support for those who may have had difficult experiences whether psychedelic or otherwise.

 Please note:

Psychedelic substances are currently illegal under Irish law and I do not provide psychedelic experiences, nor can I advise on sourcing psychedelics.
